The synths and xylophone/metallophone sounds in this tune all come from the “ORIGINALS Media Toolkit” from Spitfire Audio, which is intended to be used to score moody modern drama TV shows. I heard the demos, and immediately thought, “I can use this to write moody modern pop songs!” You can judge for yourself whether I was right.

The lyric was hard to crack on this one… Once I realized I wasn’t going to be able to make obscenities work for me, I figured I wanted a word that had some weight behind it, and I ended up going with “please.”

Addressing last round’s criticisms - I see where folks were coming from when they said I was playing it safe. This one feels like a bigger swing; whether it sounds like one is a matter of taste, I guess. I also spent some time tweaking my drums, since my entry last round (along with most of my entries in SpinTunes 19, come to think of it) were justifiably criticized for a lack of punchiness. If you have any feedback or advice, I’d be very interested to hear it.
