She was a beautiful eighth grader. I was a nerdy seventh grader who looked 10. I tranferred schools during the middle of the year. She was one of the many kids at my new school who went out of their way to befriend me, and helped me feel like I belonged.
On the downside, learning how much detail girls share scarred me for years.
