I remember the day I decided to embark
I followed that guiding light
for so many years in the dark
I grew up on stories
of the people who live here
I had to see it for myself

I landed in a field under cover of the night
I touched down to explore and learn
not to cause a fight
A song of frogs and crickets
in sleepy buzzing harmony
was the first thing to welcome me

In that new light I could see
The grasses and the trees

Yes that was my first glimpse of green

Back where I come from it's dusty and grey
jagged stones and razor rocks
and no real place to play
Fairy tales from grandma's chair
