"Cliché" originated as a printmaking term for a saying that was printed so often that it made more sense to cast it as a solid block of type.

My other starting point for this song was one of my favourite albums, released 25 years ago this year. My copy came with a "In 25 words or less" competition for fans, and I won second prize.
