This is a song for a Confirmation, when teenagers are asked to confirm the faith in which they were brought up, to bind themselves to that faith with the freedom and responsibility of an adult. Ironically, as it marks the end of religious instruction, for many it is effectively a farewell. This song addresses the paradox of simultaneously welcoming and saying goodbye to so many adventurers as they set off for their tumultuous twenties, and goes out especially to one particular adventurer who I hope knows just how free and loved she is.
