Mandibles - What Just Happened?

Sometimes a song just writes itself. I was blindsided by an unexpected disconnect in my relationship this week, and the more my partner and I tried to talk it through and the more I tried to explain my point of view, the worse the disconnect got. Both of us feel like the other is trying to break up, and the longer this goes on, the less salvageable the relationship feels.

The sudden changes in tempo and meter represent the disjointed feeling from having a fight with your partner. The rapid delivery of the lyrics mirrors how when you're trying to explain yourself in an argument, you're talking a million words a minute. The at times awkward declamation of the words (ex. COMmuniCAtion) symbolizes how even when you try to say the right thing, it comes out wrong.

The new skill this week is me (Cybro) on the mandolin - I recently borrowed one from the library and have been trying to learn to play. Our recording session this week even included Truth teaching me some tricks and new chords for the instrument.
