The Popped Hearts - Tusen Takk

New instrument: I decided to try the toy steel drum I got for my son a few Christmases ago. I have also not done much with melodica but I think technically I threw it on an outro of a mediocre song a few years ago. For drums/percussion I usually program them (if I want them to sound tight) or play a traditional kit (if I want them to sound like complete trash), so playing a bunch of alternate percussion here was new. Cajon with a kick pedal for the bass drum & the top hit with sticks for a snare rim-ish sound, shakers, a metal guiro-like thing, a vibraslap, and the side of a metal table.

New language: “tusen takk” is the one tiny bit I remember from a trip to Norway years ago (been pining for the fjords ever since). The first line was inspired by the kind of unlikely-to-ever-be-used stuff Duolingo will feed you when starting a new language, and the rest was courtesy of Google Translate. Ha det bra!
