This song is an extremely loose biopic, leaving out an enormous amount and no doubt massively over-exaggerating everything that is still in there. It's probably the strangest thing I've ever written. Inspirations: the dead celebrity who is the subject of the song, the hurdy gurdy, Cornelius Cardew's work with the Scratch Orchestra, Gregorian chant.
