about
The final round of Spintunes, eek, I still can't believe I got this far. The challenge was to write a song with just 25 words or less.
This was a battle. I initial thought about doing some kind of dance track, as 25 words for the song might work well and quickly figured out I haven't got a clue what I am doing.
The lyrics came about by me spending far much time working on trying to get a song and completely forgetting about a promise I made to my little girl. I wrote the lyrics just before going to sleep and they stuck.
Instead of learning my lesson I continued to get obsessed with the track, trying to fit in as many instruments as I could, stripping them out then obsessing about whether my mix was ok.
It has gotten to the point now where I just don't care anymore, I've done as much as I can and I like the song. Sod it, I'm putting it out there and having done with it.
My track uses 25 words and also uses only 20 letters when I checked. I geeked out and wrote a C# script which found this out:
Words used:
sometimes,i,forget,myself,and,keep,you,hanging,take,for,granted,can't,work,out,i'm,pretty,sure,noticed,might,not,understand,want,your,old,man
Letters used:
s,o,m,e,t,i,f,r,g,y,l,a,n,d,k,p,u,h,c,w
lyrics
sometimes I forget myself
and I keep you hanging
sometimes I forget myself
and I take you for granted
sometimes I forget myself
and I can't work out
I'm pretty sure
you noticed
sometimes I forget myself
and I forget you might not understand
sometimes I forget myself
and I forget you want your old man
sometimes I forget myself
and I can't work out
I'm pretty sure
you noticed
