Here is the challenge:

Escape the Grid: Write a song that makes creative use of one or more tempo changes.

Tempo is the underlying musical pace of your song, usually measured in beats per minute and often maintained by a click track or metronome. Tempo changes can be used to mark sectional transitions, change the energy level, or highlight important moments in a song.

This is what I did:

I decided to write the middle 8 first, I knew I want to have an increase in tempo as my take on the challenge and I decided that I wanted the middle 8 to do it. What happened is I wrote the middle 8 and I couldn't get anything to fit before or after it, I felt it lost its atmosphere every time I tried. So I thought to hell with it, who needs structure anyway.

Yes, that's my daughter at the start. She seems interested in my music at the moment and I want to make sure all my passion are passed onto her. As if I can't make in the music biz maybe she can.

Also to my daughters credit she doesn't really wake in the night that often, she did a couple of times recently and I guess that's triggered me to write the lyrics, she's a good little girl (when she's asleep).
