far across the desert sands
through the dead and barren
lands i ride

on the trail to find the man
who fable claims can bring them
back alive

once we lived in verdance
but our greed became our vice
stripped of our abundance
sold away our paradise
and so i seek the legend
salvation from the skies
if we are all to survive

as if by fortune most divine
i see a shade approaching
dressed in white

then from his mouth, as black as night
"are you prepared to pay the cost -

flash of revelation
as i realize the price
fleeting desperation
but ill make the sacrifice
