I love the myth of the Swan Song - that idea that the otherwise gawky swan lets out a beautiful tune before it dies, and I imagined that if each day of loving was the best we'd ever felt, could it be our last and best?

So I wrote about Love being a Sisyphean pursuit - every day we work at it, and every day might be our last

I stole the lyrical idea of 'our silver throats' from 'The Silver Swan' by Orlando Gibbons

Musically, you'll note this song revolves around a repeated descending progression, and one or two other musical references to the y-axis.
