Jocko inspired me to submit 2 songs instead of one. There both shadows so why not. Whereas my first song was just a bit of fun I wanted to make something a bit more meaningful. I also decided to do the things that have been expressly told in the podcast that the jerks don't like:

1) it is incredibly slow at 55bpm
2) it is just me and piano. It's a midi one, but that still counts, right. I even left in all the background noise and me shuffling about just to lay it on thick. I had to really stop myself trying to fix my screw ups!

The lyrics are my attempt at the first exercise in Jeff Tweedys latest book where my association was home and I was sitting in my study. Definitely going to try some more exercises in that book, I loved the experience.

The phrase "Love is an empty bridge" stuck out, it came from me having Love for my home association and there is a picture of a bridge in my study and I liked the idea of love being the act that stops you from doing something stupid. It's not the be all to end all but it will keep you level and is just what you need when you need it.

I could of (and may still do) go to town on this because I think it is good, the fact that I feel uncomfortable about posting it because it touches a nerve in me says something ... I think!
