This song was written on guitar, with two shapes (patterns and shapes is often how I think about playing guitar). On close inspection, it turned out to be a I-IV pattern, moving between Emaj7 and Aadd9.

I stripped most of the guitar playing out, and re-created the two chords using my voice - each chord literally voiced by 4 notes.

After adding some electric piano, glockenspiel, and bass I was feeling pretty good - but we really needed a bit of fire, so I enlisted the talents of SongFight! champion Toshiro to bring it together with his amazing real bass, guitars, and ears.

The song itself is a reflection on my journey of SpinTunes, and the absolute surprise I feel at being so close to making it to the final round. I'm also singing about my day job - my new boss has given me the opportunity and support to shine over the past few years, and I'm amazed I'm still climbing.

Thanks to all of you - the bands, the judges, and the SongFighters - for making the past few years a real treat. You're all extremely beautiful.
