SONG BIO:
The idea for this song came from a newspaper article. As Syria enters its tenth year of civil war, people fleeing the conflict are taking shelter in the ruins of of ancient structures in the north of the country - churches, temples, bathhouses, Roman and Byzantine, all centuries old. Gesturing at the shelter and cooking furnace he built for his family out of the rubble, Abu Ramadan tells the New York Times, “We built these from the ruins. We, too, have become ruins.” As per the challenge, the lyric contains exactly 25 words.
