Balance Lost - Fade to White

I attempted to use 2 production techniques I’d never used before. Firstly, “parallel compression”; I doubled the drum track, and applied very light compression to one and heavy compression to the other to try and achieve a drum sound that is both punchy and expansive. Secondly, “reverse reverb”; I added heavy reverb to the first word of a vocal track, rendered it so the reverb became part of the track and then reversed it so the verses are prefixed by a long tail of reverb, the intention being to add an element of drama to the vocal track.
