Separate the facts from the senses to conclude
To find out what is real, to declare what is true
As a simulation, he had to think it through

After thinking up forever he said "Cogito ergo sum"
But there was no way to prove it, it was instantly shot down
A brain in a vat could think that very thing
So could virtual Descartes, it's just a simple string

Code entangled in itself, sitting in the cloud
You can't explain away the demon hidden in the shroud
We have no philosophy, the ego has betrayed
Thus came the silliest solution: Virtual Descartes prayed.
