Some people are going to call me out for bending the rules here, but I stand by my pet choice. It's got "Pet" right in the name! I made the pet-roommate connection, and I explained everything the pet/room-mate does through the course of a day. I firmly believe I met the challenge.
I wasted a lot of time writing about a pet rock, but it was really boring. So, I attacked the challenge from a few different directions, and I ended up coming back to another inanimate pet.
Once I made the connection to an alcoholic room-mate, everything else fell out of my brain with little coaxing. Then the seated/seeded pun, and bow/bough (even though my pet doesn't technically have a bough, it felt appropriate, if a bit obvious.)
I'm worried it's TOO obvious, but I still like it.
